1. Scope
This notice applies to companion.gaming.tools and web content displayed inside the gaming.tools Companion. It supplements the Privacy Policy. Different technologies are loaded depending on the page, whether you are signed in, your choices, and whether your account has an ad-free entitlement.
2. What these technologies are
Cookies are small files stored by a web browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, advertising identifiers, pixels, and consent strings. The Companion uses Microsoft WebView2 to display web content, so a web page inside the Windows application can use the same browser storage technologies as a normal website.
3. Technology categories
Strictly necessary
Purpose: Operate sign-in, security, navigation, load balancing, consent records, and requested account or cloud features.
Choice: These technologies cannot normally be disabled through the consent manager because the requested service cannot operate correctly without them.
Preferences and functionality
Purpose: Remember language, layout, interface, game workspace, overlay, and other choices.
Choice: Some preferences can be changed in the Companion or site. Clearing browser or WebView2 storage may reset them.
Analytics
Purpose: Measure page and feature usage, app launches, world changes, engaged time, and service reliability.
Provider: gaming.tools uses a self-hosted Plausible Analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent analytics identifiers. It creates a daily pseudonymous identifier from request information and a rotating daily salt. Companion analytics can be disabled in launcher settings.
Advertising
Purpose: Deliver, limit, personalize where allowed, prevent fraud, and measure advertisements shown to users without an ad-free entitlement.
Providers: Nitro, operated by Overwolf, and participating advertising partners. Depending on your consent and region, they may use cookies, local storage, online identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, device information, consent strings, and ad interaction data.
4. Your choices
- Use Update Cookie Preferences in the site footer to reopen the consent manager when it is available.
- Accept or reject personalized advertising and participating vendors from the consent interface.
- Disable Companion analytics from the launcher settings.
- Use browser or Windows WebView2 controls to clear stored website data.
- Use an active remove-ads entitlement to prevent Companion advertising placements.
Rejecting or withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the change. The consent record itself may be retained so services can remember and demonstrate your choice.
5. US state opt-outs and Global Privacy Control
gaming.tools does not sell personal information for money. Some targeted-advertising disclosures may be treated as a sale or sharing under California or other US state laws. Where supported, you can use the consent or opt-out controls supplied with the advertising surface. Global Privacy Control signals are honored where they apply and can be detected.

6. Providers and retention
Session technologies normally expire when the session or browser context ends. Persistent preferences and consent records remain until their configured expiry or until cleared. Advertising providers set their own retention periods as described in their notices. Plausible's daily visitor identifier expires after 24 hours.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this notice when technologies, providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
