1. Who controls your information
gaming.tools is an eenmanszaak registered in the Netherlands with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK number 84672056 and VAT number NL003996838B11. gaming.tools is the controller for the processing by the gaming.tools Companion for Overwolf described in this policy.
For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@gaming.tools.
2. Scope
This policy applies only to the gaming.tools Companion for Overwolf, including its Electron desktop window, local web interface, native Windows sidecar, optional native widgets, updates, and related static-data requests. It does not replace the privacy notices for other gaming.tools products or websites.
The Overwolf platform, managed installer, consent system, advertising services, distribution services, and platform analytics are operated by Overwolf. Overwolf processes information under its own Platform Privacy Policy and Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy.
3. Guest-only edition
The Overwolf edition does not provide gaming.tools account sign-in, Patreon linking, cloud sync, account management, premium benefits, or a Remove Ads entitlement. It does not ask for or receive a gaming.tools account password.
4. Information processed on your device
Read-only supported game data
The initial release supports Palworld, and later releases may support additional games. When a supported game is running, the native sidecar opens its local process with read and query permissions. Depending on the game and feature you use, it can process current session identity, camera direction, player or mount status, position, inventory, tracked objectives, game UI state, nearby actors or creatures, nearby storage, activity state, and owned characters or creatures.
This live gameplay data is used for the desktop views, planning tools, and optional local widgets. It remains in local process memory, is discarded when the session ends, and is not uploaded to gaming.tools. The app does not write game memory, inject code, automate input, intercept network traffic, or modify game files.
Settings and local files
The app stores settings such as hotkeys, widget layout and colors, feature preferences, saved local planner inputs, analytics preference, caches, and rotating diagnostic logs on your device. Diagnostic logs are not automatically uploaded to gaming.tools. We receive them only if you choose to send them when requesting support.
5. Network requests
Static game data and media
The app downloads read-only database files and media for supported games, including Palworld, from the gaming.tools content-delivery service. These requests necessarily expose the requested resource, IP address, User-Agent, and request time to our network and hosting provider, Cloudflare. Gameplay values read from the local game process are not included in these requests.
Optional gaming.tools analytics
Product analytics are enabled by default and can be disabled in the app settings. When enabled, the app sends events to our self-hosted Plausible Analytics service. These events can contain the app route, app version, game identifier, app launch, game session, feature event name, feature command identifier, and engaged time. They do not contain the supported-game gameplay values described above.
Plausible uses the IP address and User-Agent received with a request to create a daily pseudonymous visitor identifier. The IP address and full User-Agent are not retained as raw analytics fields, and the identifier changes when the daily salt changes. The Overwolf edition does not add a gaming.tools account identifier because account sign-in is disabled.
Support
When you contact us, we process your email address, message, attachments, and any diagnostic information you choose to provide.
6. Overwolf distribution, analytics, consent, and advertising
The public installer is managed by Overwolf and downloads approved app versions from Overwolf's distribution network. The installer provides the initial Overwolf consent flow and acceptance of Overwolf's terms. The app includes an action for reopening Overwolf advertising privacy settings.
The app uses Overwolf Ads as its only advertising surface. Overwolf and participating advertising partners may process consent or preference records, unified or other online and device identifiers, IP address and approximate location, technical device information, active application, process, or window information, the ad surface, and ad impressions or interactions for ad delivery, fraud prevention, reporting, and measurement. Personalized advertising is used only where the required choice or consent has been obtained.
OW-Electron also provides platform usage and operational analytics. Overwolf controls that processing. See Overwolf's policies linked in section 2 for its purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention, and privacy choices.

- Consent: analytics or advertising processing where applicable law requires consent. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- Legitimate interests: proportionate product measurement, security, diagnostics, support, and service improvement where permitted.

9. Recipients and international transfers
We disclose only information needed for the relevant service. Recipient categories are:
- Cloudflare for network delivery, hosting, and security.
- Our self-hosted Plausible service for optional product analytics.
- Overwolf and its providers or advertising partners for distribution, platform operation, consent, ads, fraud prevention, and measurement.
- Professional advisers or authorities when required by law or needed to protect rights and security.

- Settings, caches, layouts, saved local inputs, and logs remain on your device until removed by you, the app, or applicable uninstall and cleanup processes.
- Plausible daily visitor identifiers expire when the daily salt changes. Product event records are retained only while needed for measurement, reliability analysis, and product planning.
