1. Agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and gaming.tools, an eenmanszaak registered in the Netherlands under KVK number 84672056. They apply only to the gaming.tools Companion for Overwolf, including its Electron desktop window, local web interface, native Windows sidecar, optional widgets, updates, and related services, together called the App.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and the Overwolf App Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
Overwolf operates the platform, managed installer, distribution, consent system, and advertising services. Your use of those services is also subject to the separate Overwolf Platform Terms of Use and Overwolf policies.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, have reached the age of majority where you live, and be legally able to enter this agreement. If you do not meet these requirements, you may not use the App.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, gaming.tools grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the App on Windows devices you control for personal, non-commercial use with games and game versions supported by the App.
This license does not transfer ownership of the App, code, branding, data, or content. Open-source components remain governed by their applicable licenses.
4. Guest-only edition
The App does not provide gaming.tools account sign-in, cloud sync, Patreon linking, premium benefits, account management, or a Remove Ads entitlement. Features and settings are designed to work locally without a gaming.tools account.
5. How the App works
The App uses a signed native sidecar to inspect supported local game processes with read and query permissions. The initial release supports Palworld, and later releases may support additional games. It processes supported live game state to provide desktop views, planning tools, and optional local widgets. It does not write game memory, inject code, automate input, intercept packets, modify game files, or bypass anti-cheat protections.
Supported games and their technical interfaces can change without notice. We do not promise that every feature will always be available, accurate, compatible with every game or Windows version, or accepted by every publisher, server operator, tournament, or platform. You are responsible for checking and following the rules that apply to your game account and environment.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the App unlawfully, fraudulently, harmfully, or to violate another person's rights.
- Use the App to cheat, disrupt multiplayer services, evade enforcement, or violate applicable game or platform terms.
- Probe, attack, overload, interfere with, or bypass security, access controls, consent choices, advertising, or distribution controls.
- Use automated requests, scrapers, bots, or scripts against gaming.tools services without written permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract non-public source code, protocols, credentials, or data, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Redistribute, sublicense, resell, rent, impersonate, or present the App or gaming.tools content as your own.
- Use the App to introduce malware or compromise another user, game, service, or system.
7. Local data and user choices
Live gameplay values are processed locally and are not a cloud backup. Settings, layouts, planner inputs, caches, and logs can remain on your device. You are responsible for your device, your chosen settings, and any diagnostic information you voluntarily send for support.
Details about local processing, analytics, advertising, consent, and your privacy choices are in the Overwolf App Privacy Policy.
8. Advertising
The App is free and may display advertising supplied through Overwolf Ads. It does not recognize external gaming.tools premium or Remove Ads entitlements. Advertising, consent, measurement, and privacy choices are provided through Overwolf services and are subject to Overwolf's terms and policies.
You must not obscure, block, manipulate, fraudulently interact with, or bypass an ad placement or its consent controls.
9. Installation, updates, and changes
The public installer and release distribution are managed by Overwolf. Overwolf services may deliver approved App updates. Updates may add, modify, or remove features and may be required for compatibility, security, or continued use.
We may change, suspend, retire, or limit the App when reasonably necessary for security, legal, provider, game compatibility, or operational reasons.
10. Intellectual property
gaming.tools and the App's original software, design, content, databases, and branding are owned by gaming.tools or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Palworld belongs to Pocketpair, Inc. Other supported games belong to their respective owners. Game artwork, assets, trademarks, and related intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners. The App is an independent fan-made product and is not endorsed by or affiliated with a game publisher or owner unless explicitly stated.
If you voluntarily provide an idea or suggestion, you allow gaming.tools to use it without restriction or payment. This does not transfer ownership of your existing intellectual property.
11. Third-party services
Overwolf, Cloudflare, supported games, Windows, links, downloads, advertising, and other third-party products or services are governed by their providers' terms and policies. gaming.tools does not control and is not responsible for a third party's service, content, security, availability, or decisions.
12. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, gaming.tools disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of live or static game data, that the App will not conflict with another program, or that use will not affect a game account. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, gaming.tools is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, gameplay, accounts, opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from the App. You remain responsible for backups, system security, and compliance with game and platform rules.
Nothing limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or another liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
14. Ending use
You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. We may suspend or end distribution or operation where reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect users or systems, comply with law, or respond to a material or repeated breach of these Terms.
Terms that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute provisions, continue after use ends.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Courts in the Netherlands have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring or defend a claim in another place or under another law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
16. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App or law. Material changes will be communicated through the site, App, installer, or another appropriate channel. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them where permitted by law.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to privacy@gaming.tools.
